Launched in Spring of 2007, The Lake & Stars was a lingerie and swimwear brand created to fill the gap between sporty everyday underwear and frilly or boudoir special occasion lingerie. A brand to be a statement on the role of lingerie in a woman's wardrobe, as an element of style rather than a one-note provocation.
All campaigns are a collaboration between The Lake & Stars and Tom Hines (photographer). Between Spring 2007 and Fall 2012, The Lake & Stars was sold at stores including Barneys New York, Net A Porter, Lane Crawford, Holt Renfrew, amongst others. In 2009 The Lake & Stars launched a diffusion line called Double in Brass for Urban Outfitters, and created collaboration collections for &Other Stories and Kate Spade. In 2011 The Lake & Stars was the first lingerie brand to be awarded the Ecco Domani Award for Womenswear. Archive pieces from several collections can be seen at The Fashion Textile Museum in London, and in books Design Behind Desire amongst others.
